Yucatan Peninsula Ministry On January 12, 2008 a 30-member Missions Team will leave our church headed for the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico to Maya Country. The team will consist of people of all ages from four area churches. The purpose of the trip is twofold: (1) to minister to the ministers and (2) to minister to the local churches. Many times missionaries become weary in the work, and just a little "shot in the arm" boosts them up to keep on faithfully serving. And, it is often very exciting and encouraging to national churches to know American churches and Christians are concerned enough about them to come see them. This year the missions team will conduct morning services each day to encourage the missionaries and pastors; evening services will be held in national churches to build relationships between the American and Mayan churches. On January 17, a banquet and special service will be enjoyed with the present students and alumni of Instituto Bautista Independiente David in Valladolid. The dinner will be prepared and served by the Mission Team for the Maya brethren.
